Battlefield Archaeology

 

Dr. Paul Shackel, Director of the Center for Heritage Resource Studies,  oversees numerous archaeological research projects through a Cooperative Agreement with the National Park Service's National Capital Region.  This agreement was developed in 1997 with the Department of Anthropology and now runs through the Center under Dr. Shackel's leadership.  Through this agreement, the Center and Department of conducted numerous archaeological research projects in National Battlefields.
