Lena Mortensen joined the Center for Heritage Resource Studies in 2003.  She holds a degree from Indiana University in Anthropology with a specialization in Archaeology and Social Context.  Her research explores the relationships of local and international stakeholders to the archaeological site of Copan, Honduras. She is particularly interested in community participation in heritage development and the role of tourism in shaping local identities. Mortensen has also worked in development, archaeological fieldwork, education, and indigenous rights.
